Permissions

Permissions

AI Groups Poster requests only the browser permissions needed to run its current extension workflows.

Last updated:

This page explains the permissions listed in the current browser extension manifest in plain English.

Extension permissions are used only for user-facing features that support the Facebook group posting workflow the user intentionally starts.

This page reflects the current extension permissions in the published manifest as of .

Why permissions matter

Browser extensions should not feel mysterious.

AI Groups Poster uses each requested permission for a specific product workflow. Users should be able to understand what each permission enables and why it appears in the extension manifest.

Current extension permissions

Current AI Groups Poster browser extension permissions
Permission Why it is needed When it is used What it is not used for
storage Stores extension settings, session state, workflow preferences, and temporary product data needed across browser sessions. When the extension needs to remember account connection state, posting workflow settings, or local UI preferences. Not used to collect unrelated browsing history or store data that is not needed for the product workflow.
tabs Supports website handoff flows such as opening sign-in, onboarding, account connection, or required workflow pages. When the user starts an action that needs a website page or a supported Facebook workflow page. Not used to monitor all open tabs continuously or read unrelated pages for marketing profiling.
scripting Allows the extension to add UI helpers and workflow logic on supported pages where the user intentionally uses the extension. When a supported posting workflow needs page-level assistance from the extension. Not used to inject unrelated ads, modify unsupported sites, or run scripts outside the product workflow.
alarms Supports time-based workflow checks, scheduled actions, retries, and background reminders used by the extension. When the extension needs a scheduled check instead of requiring the user to keep a popup open. Not used for hidden tracking or activity monitoring outside extension workflows.
https://www.facebook.com/* Required because the extension operates on Facebook pages where the user intentionally manages group posting workflows. When the user is working on supported Facebook pages and uses AI Groups Poster features. Not used as permission to post without user control, scrape Facebook group members, access unrelated websites, or build unrelated browsing profiles.

What permissions are not for

Permissions should not be used as a blank check.

AI Groups Poster does not use extension permissions for unrelated browsing profiles, hidden tracking, unsupported websites, scraping Facebook group members, selling traffic or engagement, or access that is not needed to provide the service.

Browsing activity and page content

When the extension interacts with page content, that access is limited to the user-facing workflow being used, such as preparing a post, selecting groups, scheduling a posting session, or reviewing the publishing step.

The extension is not designed to collect unrelated browsing history or monitor unrelated pages.

How users should evaluate permissions

Before installing any extension, users should check:

  • whether the requested permissions match the product's features
  • whether the extension is installed from the official store listing
  • whether the website clearly explains what the extension does
  • whether privacy, security, and contact pages are easy to find

Official source
